How to open a terminal (in Fedora 8)

To open a terminal, where you can type and run different commands:

1) click the K-Menu (the icon on the very bottom left) (or hit Alt-F1)

2) click Run Command... (it's under "Actions", 4th item up from bottom)

3) You'll see a "Run Command" dialog window (In Fedora (8), you can quickly get to this dialog window by using Alt+F2 shortcut.

4) Type "konsole" into the Command: text box, you'll see the logo change to a terminal image (at least on Fedora 8, it did)

5) hit <Enter> and you'll be shown a terminal window where you can run various linux commands.

Alternately, in Fedora 8, you can find the terminal window under K-menu -> System -> Terminal
Since you're here, you might want to know how to make a shortcut key so that you can quickly open this terminal window in the future.
